Skinnfell Sheepskin

Seat, Chair or Couch cushion made in the traditional Norwegian craft known as Skinnfell. It has been handcrafted using two matching high quality Norwegian Villsau sheepskins. Both sheepskins have been sourced directly from Norway where the tanning process produces a superior hide that is smooth, white and soft to the touch.

The entire piece has been handsewn (no machine stitching) side to side with strong waxed linen thread and decorated with traditional Norwegian wood blocks using water based non-toxic ink. Around the perimeter of the piece is an extra sheepskin trim known as a "Bride's Edge".

The lockes are long, soft and silky with nicely variegated shades of copper and subtle grays and is not a long shaped rectangle but a bit more square in shape.
While similar in appearance to an Icelandic sheepskin, the Villsau breed of sheep Is not common to the USA making this piece especially unique.

Dimensions of the item is 25.5 inches in height and 33 inches in width and is the perfect shape to drape along the couch or to use as a hair cushion.

Final photo with item placed on chair appears more red in color due to surrounding area and flash used on camera but is actually more brown and copper in color.

This item is washable with care using a recommended sheepskin wash - Kookaburra, also featured for sale on my site.
